The CCRT would like to offer its gratitude and appreciation to all the legal community for the extraordinarily generous support which was showed for the recent launch ball for the Miriam Reynolds Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A final figure of €47,000 was raised at the event.
You will all know Judge Reynolds as a fine lawyer and jurist, who blazed a trail for women lawyers and judges in Ireland, what was less widely known was that Miriam had spent the last twelve years of her life and her entire career on the bench, battling against an advanced cancer which she knew to be incurable. The courage that she showed during this time was extraordinary, and an inspiration to all of us with the privilege of meeting her.
The Miriam Reynolds Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a separate fund within the Cancer Clinical Research Trust (Charity No: CHY12210) and will be specifically devoted to supporting the research activities of a team of scientists who are attempting to develop and improve methods of treatment for this dread disease.
